The War of 1861... I take it the professor means "The War of Northern Aggression." Yes, the second American Revolution was lost. :-)

Yeah, mine has a leak no one can find. Now I use 2 x 60 air conditioning. Got tired of paying people to look for it.

I love these quotes. I've already had the one about the gun, horse, and wife posted as my quote of the month on my ESPN profile.

After our conversation I thought about informing TSA about this situation. But then, I was glad I didn't since he made no actual threat against the USA or anyone else as far as I could tell (has there ever been a terrorist attack perpetrated by an older white man?).

I am all for freedom of speech but on the other hand, the Bible takes grumbling seriously and though the TSA doesn't reference biblical wisdom (as far as I know) in its deliberations it does take anti-American speech at the airport seriously.

Perhaps he was a little unwise to be spouting anti-american sentiments to a pilot at an airport!!! Do you think it might have risen to the level of a security threat?

People of today reject outside measures of truth (the Bible). They regulate their lives by "movable" or "flexible" truth. It reminds me of that bumper sticker: God said, I believe it, that settles it. The bumper sticker should actually read: God said it, that settles it, whether I believe it or not.

Robin:

Thanks for the information. Great post. It is scary to think what coul happen. Let us remember God is Sovereign and in total control. That alone allows believers to sleep at night.
