I have been told that my ancestors were German … a couple of thousand years ago they painted their faces and worshipped trees.
In spite of being descendants of idol worshipers God chose to be merciful to us … not only to us but to vast numbers of undeserving sinners. The true church of redeemed believers is the love-gift from the Father to the Son. We are part of that eternal gift from the Father under the covenant of grace.
May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.
